Police: Deadly stabbing was in self defense

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Investigators told WKYT Thursday morning that a deadly stabbing in Lexington was a case of self defense.

One man was killed after forcing his way inside an apartment on Newtown Pike across from Eastern State Hospital early Thursday, according to police.

That man later died at UK Hospital of multiple stab wounds.

Investigators say the man who lived in the apartment suffered minor injuries. He also went to the hospital.

The manager of the Lincoln Terrace apartments didn't want to be identified but said she had never had any problems from that resident.

"I was shocked. He never had no altercations, he usually just sits in the house," the manager said.

No names have been released.
