Police: ER Doctor charged following DUI, wrong-way crash

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police have arrested a woman who they caused a head-on crash by driving the wrong way.

The crash happened aournd 5:00 a.m. Monday on Man O'War Boulevard near Clearwater Way. The outer loop lanes of Man O'War were closed for several hours after the crash.

Lexington police say Briana Boyd, 39, was driving the wrong way on Man O'War when she crashed into the truck, causing it to flip. Boyd wasn't seriously injured, but police say two people inside the truck were taken to UK Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Boyd is charged with DUI and two counts of assault.

WKYT has learned that Boyd was a contracted doctor in the Knox County Hospital ER. Officials at the hospital say Boyd has worked there for the past three months through a company called Maxim.

According to court documents, a Lexington Police Officer witnessed Boyd going the wrong way on Man O War without her headlights on seconds before the crash. The officer also says Boyd was speeding.
