Rounds of showers and thunderstorms could cause issues across the region Saturday. Damaging winds, large hail and a few tornadoes will be possible.
REIDLAND, Ky. (AP) - Fire investigators say foul play was likely involved in a blaze that killed a Reidland woman and destroyed a home.
McCracken County Coroner Dan Sims told The Paducah Sun that preliminary findings are that the fire wasn't an accident. Sims declined to give details, saying the investigation is ongoing.
Sims says 55-year-old Julie Griffith died Friday morning after a fire that raged for 90 minutes before firefighters could go inside.
McCracken County Deputy Jon Hayden says part of the home, the western end of the house, was completely engulfed in flames when the department arrived on scene, only a minute after the emergency call was made to dispatch.
The state fire marshal is investigating the cause.
