Police: Mother left toddler alone to go to bar

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A mother is in jail, accused of leaving her toddler at home alone while she went to a bar.

Lexington police have charged Sarah Blue, 35, with endangering the welfare of a minor.

Investigators say Blue left her toddler sleeping at home while she went to the Merrick Inn Restaurant and Bar for at least an hour.

Court documents show Blue's neighbors called police when they found her 4-year-old daughter crying outside of Blue's apartment on Merrick Court, off Tates Creek Road.

When police arrived, they say Blue smelled strongly of alcohol and was slurring her speech.
