Police: Man arrested for breaking into cars near UK campus

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington police arrest a man they say broke into cars near the UK campus.

Only WKYT was there when the suspect was taken into custody early Thursday morning.

Police say they got a call about a suspicious person checking car doors in the area of Maxwell Street and Aylesford place.

When police arrived they arrested a man matching the witnesses description. They say he had several electronics in his possession.

The suspect was taken to police headquarters to be questioned. His name and charges have not yet been released.

Police say it's unclear how many cars he broke into. They expect to receive several theft reports in the area throughout the day.
