LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police arrested a man after they say he stole from a store, and then tried to return the merchandise at the same chain.
Lexington Police were called to the Castle Jewelry store on Richmond Road on Friday afternoon. Employees told police that a man showed up at the store, trying to sell back merchandise that had been stolen from a Castle Jewelry store in Pikeville.
"Highly unusual for an individual to steal from a store and try to sell those stolen items at the same store in a different location," said Lexington Police spokesperson Sherelle Roberts.
In addition to stolen items in the store, police say they found another $18,840.10 in merchandise. Police say they also found a mini pry bar, wire cutters and a metal file on the suspect.
Seth Scott faces several charges, including receiving stolen property and possession of burglary tools. He's set to answer to those charges in a Fayette County courtroom on Monday.
