Police arrest suspect in violent Lexington home invasion

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A suspect wanted in violent home invasion in Lexington has been captured. Lexington Police say State Police arrested Derrick Quarles in Logan County.

Quarles is charged with two counts of robbery for a home invasion at an apartment on State Street on June 21. Police say two people forced their way into an unlocked apartment. We're told they hit one of the victims in the head with a hammer. The other victim was also assaulted. Police say the suspects got away with a computer, gaming equipment and other items in black, plastic trash bags. Police later found the trash bags and some of the stolen items near a silver Dodge Charger at the dead end of Conn Terrace.

Police obtained the robbery warrants for Quarles on June 26. State Police arrested him on June 27.
