LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington police are asking for the public's help after a robbery and sexual assault near the University of Kentucky.

University of Kentucky leaders told students through an email that a man robbed and assaulted a female student around 2 a.m. Sunday along South Limestone, near the Washington Avenue intersection. Since then, Lexington police have taken over the investigation. They have not made any arrests yet. Students are well aware of what happened and are finding ways to look out for one another.

"I talked about it with a couple of my girlfriends today," said graduate student Katy Holmes, "and we had talked about getting an evening parking pass in order to drive home and not have to walk too much if you're at a late class, we have a lot of late classes."

Police think too men could be responsible for the robbery and assault.
