Police called after gunshot victim shows up at Lexington hospital

A man is in the hospital after being shot.

The man told Lexington Police he was approached by three men on McCullough Drive in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The victim told police he began arguing with the men and a fight ensued. The victim say he tried to defend himself with a knife when he was shot.

A group of the man's friends, who happened to be in the area, drove him to the hospital. Police were notified of the shooting by the hospital.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and is expected to recover.

No arrests have been made in the case.
