Police end Lexington standoff peacefully

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - After about four hours, an intense standoff situation was resolved peacefully.

Lexington police were called to a home on Parkers Mill Road around 10:00 Tuesday night after a man said a woman fired several shots at him.

When police arrived, they tried to make contact with that woman, who was apparently unaware that police were trying to safely coax her from the home.

The police department's Emergency Response Unit was called in and eventually entered that home. The woman had some minor injuries, but police were not sure how those injuries happened. She was taken to UK Hospital to be checked out. At this time, police say that woman is not facing any charges.

No one else was hurt.
