Georgetown Police hope to find burglar using surveillance video

Updated: Fri 2:27 PM, Dec 14, 2012

GEORGETOWN, Ky (WKYT) Police are hoping surveillance video will help them identify a man who burglarized a business.

During the break-in at Carbide Products the thief was caught on camera, now police hope someone can tell them who he is.

On December 10 a man wearing a blue poncho broke into the manufacturing facility and grabbed thousands of dollars in equipment.

"He unlawfully removed computers, computer monitors and also removed a thumb drive," said Lieutenant Jason Whitaker with the Georgetown Police Department.

That thumb drive was actually a security dongle. The management at Carbide Products say the device allowed them to access a program they paid more than $25,000 for.

Because of the clear look at part of the robbers face caught on security camera police hope someone can come forward to help them find the burglar.

One of the managers at Carbide Products says that security dongle is practically useless to anyone but them. They're hoping to get it back or it will cost them thousands of dollars.
