A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is out for for much of northern and eastern Kentucky until 9 p.m. This is just east of the Lexington metro.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police in Lexington say they believe two fires that took place overnight on Monday could have been set intentionally.
Both fires began a little after midnight, off Versailles Road near Hill Rise Drive.
One fire was started in a dumpster. Crews quickly took care of it before they were called out to the Preakness Apartments to handle a fire in a vacant apartment.
Witnesses told police they saw a man who was approximately 6'2", wearing gray pants and a white shirt, throw something into the vacant apartment before the fire started.
About 20 cases of arson were reported in that area of Lexington last year.
