ROCKCASTLE CO, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky State Police tell WKYT they're investigating an accident on Interstate 75 in Rockcastle County on Sunday night.
Police say the crash involved a commercial vehicle and a passenger vehicle.
It happened around 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the 60 mile marker traveling northbound on Interstate 75.
The driver of the passenger car had to be extricated from their car. The fire department says it was a lengthy extrication using all tools from both trucks on the scene.
The driver was airlifted from the scene. The driver of the semi was not injured.
The crash caused the semi to dump its load of plastic pellets onto the Interstate.
Lanes were closed due to cleanup.
