RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - A search is underway for a man police say shot someone in a neighborhood, then drove off.
Richmond Police are looking for 21-year-old Tony Gay.
Police say Gay should be considered armed and dangerous.
Just after 4 p.m. Monday, police say Gay shot the victim in the abdomen, near the intersection of Race and Spring Streets.
Police say they don’t know a motive for the shooting.
A man who owns a business nearby says his surveillance cameras were rolling at the time of the shooting.
“You see a car backing out of the driveway,” Bernie LeMay said. “They were walking down that direction, and the one approached the car. After he approached the car, it looked like he fell to the ground. The car sped away.”
Police say after the shooting, Gay drove off in a black 2001 Ford Taurus. Police say the car has a Kentucky license plate of 408-LBD.
Police say the shooting victim was taken to UK Hospital and underwent surgery.
We’re told the victim’s injuries are not life-threatening.
