LINCOLN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Officials say a death investigation is underway, after a shooting left a 16 year old dead.
The Lincoln County coroner tells us the shooting happened Friday on Kentucky 12-47 in Waynesburg.
He says Lincoln County High School sophomore, Cody Mesaris, 16, was shot accidentally.
The coroner says no foul play is suspected. An autopsy was conducted Saturday.
Cody's funeral is being handled by Morrison-Hislope funeral home in Science Hill. According to the funeral home website, the visitation is scheduled for Christmas Eve, beginning at 11 a.m. The funeral will begin at 1 p.m.
