LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Eleven men and women appeared in federal court today accused of taking part in a large drug ring.
Federal prosecutors say the accused conspired to knowingly and intentionally make and sell crack cocaine in Lexington.
The investigation began last August. Yesterday our cameras were rolling as police, sheriff deputies, and ATF agents surrounded a Lexington apartment complex off Cambridge drive near Alexandria. They were searching for suspects in connection to the case. That round-up netted several individuals. Others were arrested in similar raids.
The eleven people named in the indictment released in federal court today are as follows:
David Atreyel Campbell, Dominico Lyndell Morbley, Brian Keith White, William Sidney Hepburn, Robert Stephan Lewis JR., Larry Dwayne Briscoe, Roger Lee Bell JR., Erica Denise Bush, Vincent Conice Brown, Reginald Laron Jones and Erik Lamont Lewis.
Authorities tell us a twelfth suspect turned herself in today, she is also facing felony drug charges in connection to this case.
All twelve defendants are facing a minimum five-years in prison and fines ranging from $250,000 to upwards of $5M.
