GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT)-Georgetown Police say Jack Roberts was arrested Sunday after a lengthy investigation.

Police are crediting Roberts with stealing at least 40-thousand dollars worth of goods from the Oxford Self Storage facility. They say he was wanted by federal marshalls for trafficking stolen property.

Georgetown Police say each time Jack Roberts burglarized units, he'd use large bolt cutters to get in the units and then replace the locks with new ones when he was done.

Captain Robert Swanigan of the Georgetown Police Department said "The workers or owners would drive by to check the units and see the padlock, so it doesn't seem disturbed."

Since December, officers say Roberts pulled away with a box trailer full of go-carts and at least two trailers, nearly 30-feet long.

"We know for a fact that one, if not both are in Tennessee," Swanigan said.

Swanigan says there's no telling how many more victims will come forward, after finding their units emptied. Officers are still trying to figure out why the Lebanon, Tennessee resident was hitting in Central Kentucky and how he knew a code to get on the storage facility's property.

Police say Roberts was caught because someone spotted his truck in the Walmart parking lot in Georgetown. Roberts was inside.

"He is cooperating right now. Hopefully, we can recover the rest of these items."

Police say in the most recent theft case, Roberts had his 17-year-old daughter in the car with him. They say she is now with family members and had nothing to do with the crimes.

Officers say Roberts also had unrelated warrants out of Whitley County.
