Police officer accused of sexting

LA GRANGE, Ky. (AP) - A police officer has been charged with sending sexually explicit text messages to a juvenile.

The Oldham County Police Department says in a news release that Officer Shane Mosley resigned after being charged with using electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities; official misconduct; and third degree unlawful transaction with a minor.

According to online fiscal court minutes, Mosley had been an officer with the county since 2008.

He was lodged in the Oldham County Jail and released on $1,000 bond. The jail did not have record of an attorney for Mosley.

The news release says a female juvenile contacted police this week about the texts. The release says the texts contained specific, graphic sexual references and other inappropriate communications.
