LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT)- Lexington Police Detectives say it has been a week since they were called to the Meijer in Hamburg, following a purse-snatching incident.

Officers say they need help identifying the people responsible.

Police say the victim and her father were unloading groceries into the back of their vehicle when a man walked up behind them and stole the woman's purse, which was sitting in the child seat area of the shopping cart.

Officers say the suspect jumped into a brown or gold SUV or Pickup with a camper on it. The woman and her father tried to hang onto the vehicle as it pulled away.

"We understand them wanting to apprehend the person on their own, but it certainly poses a safety issue," Detective Reid Bowles explained.

Police are hoping someone can identify the man and if you have any information, you can call 859-258-3600.

Police say the woman and her father both had minor injuries, but are ok.
