Police release photo of Madison County teen of the night she disappeared

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky State Police have released a picture of missing Madison County teen, Brookelyn Farthing, 18, taken the night she disappeared.

The photo was taken the Friday before she went missing. Troopers say she's wearing a gray Madison County FFA t-shirt, denim shorts.

Farthing was reported missing on June 22nd. Police tell us she was last seen near Berea.

Tuesday, KSP sent out a request for property owners in surrounding counties, including Jackson, Rockcastle, Estill, and Madison County, to check for any freshly-turned dirt, and unusual smells.

"It's an active missing persons investigation," said Trooper Paul Blanton. "We are doing everything we can to locate Brookelyn, and our hope is still that she will turn up, she will call somebody, she'll let us know that she is OK, but this is just a direction the investigation has to take to make sure that that aspect is covered,"

Blanton says that request resulted in dozens of tips that police are now investigating.

Attached are a photo of Brookelyn, the newly-released picture taken the night she disappeared, and a picture KSP sent of her gray FFA shirt.
