Some storms are possible during the morning and afternoon on Tuesday. Damaging winds and flooding will be the main threats. With an already soaked ground, expect strong winds to easily bring down some trees.
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - We're tracking the investigation into two violent home invasions and an attempted armed robbery. All three crimes happened in Frankfort. Police say they have similarities and it appears they may be connected.
The home invasions happened just days apart on Centennial Avenue. In one of those cases, police say two men entered an unlocked apartment and held two 24-year-olds at gunpoint. When one of those victims tried to escape, he was shot in the right arm.
The suspects took off before officers arrived.
"These individuals are obviously dangerous that they've threatened the use of violence and in the one case have actually shot a human being and it's becoming obvious that these individuals could in fact be dangerous and are a threat to the safety of our community," said Major Fred Deaton with Frankfort Police.
In each case, the gunmen are described as black males wearing either a ski mask or red bandana to cover their faces. One of them is about five-foot-ten and the other is six-foot-two. Both weigh around 170-190 pounds.
Frankfort Police have released a surveillance photo from a local bank ATM. They believe the photo is one of the two suspects involved in the crimes.
