Police say bullet bounced off the sidewalk and into home on neighboring street

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A man is in jail after a bullet strayed into a Lexington home, nearly hitting the person inside.

Police say 23-year-old Damon Burchfield fired the gun from inside a home on Forest Green Drive, off of Belleau Wood Drive.

According to police, that bullet bounced off the sidewalk and into a house on nearby Lori Lane.

Someone inside the home says they were hit by drywall and later realized it was because of a bullet.

Burchfield is charged with wanton endangerment.
