RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are looking for a man who robbed an electronic cigarette business in Richmond in broad daylight.

"I'm very thankful that it was me that was here instead of my daughters," says Thomas Wendt, an owner of TNT Vapors.

It happened around 10:00 Saturday morning at TNT Vapors in the Southern Hills Plaza in Richmond.

The owner of the business says he saw a man walk by the store windows while he was setting up shop. Just a few minutes later, the owner says the man walked in, pointed a gun at him and demanded money.

The owner says he gave the robber all of the money in his cash register, $300 even. The thief then ran out of the store.

The owner says the store is a family owned business and he's just thankful that he was the one inside instead of his daughters.

"First thing that went through my mind was that I have a gun myself but I couldn't get to it," says Wendt. "But maybe that was a good thing. I was just hoping and praying the guy didn't shoot me and that he'd just take the cash and leave."

Police are also checking with some of the other businesses in the area to see if they have any surveillance video of the suspect.

The owner of the business describes the robber as a white man, about 6'0" tall with brown facial hair, around 35 to 40 years old. He was wearing a green hoodie and blue jeans at the time.
