Police: Serial bank robber could be behind another holdup

Updated: Wed 8:15 PM, Jun 27, 2012

Investigators are looking into the possibility a serial bank robber has committed another crime.

The latest robbery happened Wednesday morning at the U.S. Bank in Danville.

Police say the robber walked in, implied he had a weapon, demanded money and walked out. "We have reviewed the evidence and we see a lot of similarities to the robberies in Lexington a few weeks ago," explains Danville Police Chief Tony Gray, "we are combining efforts with both departments to try and catch this man."

Investigators say the robber always wears a hat to hide his face from security cameras. "He has done a good job of covering his face," explains Chief Gray, "but eventually someone is going to recognize him and hopefully come forward with information."

They're also looking into whether the robber has a getaway vehicle or just a car parked somewhere near the scene.
