Lexington Police say that Hypnotik Tattooz on Woodhill Drive in Lexington was offering more than just tattoos to their customers.
Several complaints were filed with police about the business selling synthetic drug products.
After getting a search warrant this month, police discovered thousands of different types of synthetic drugs inside the tattoo parlor including bath salts, herbal spices, and shoe deodorizer. These are all synthetic drugs that are used to get high.
According to court documents, police found the products throughout behind the counter and in the tattoo supply closet.
Businesses in the Woodhill Drive shopping center say they have smelled a marijuana-like scent coming from Hypnotik Tattooz.
Police continue to investigate but according to documents, they have three suspects that could face trafficking charges. So far no arrests have been made.
Hypnotik Tattooz now has a sign posted outside of the building letting customers know they are no longer selling bath salts or shoe deodorizers.
In 2011, the Narcotic Enforcement Unit went around to Lexington businesses telling them that the sale of these products would soon be illegal. If they did not stop selling the synthetic drugs, they could face criminal charges.
