Updated: Tue 11:52 PM, Jul 10, 2012

Lexington police are investigating numerous carjacking cases in the area.

One of the cases, which happened Tuesday, occurred when police say a man approached a woman in her car, and told her one of her tires was flat. When she got out to check, police say he jumped into her car and drove off.

It happened in the parking lot of the Woodhill Circle Plaza around 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Police say the suspect could be behind a number of other car thefts in town. They believe this is his fifth steal. A second happened Monday afternoon in the Speedway in Beaumont.

They are still searching town for him.
