Police release surveillance pictures in hammer attack

Lexington Police released surveillance pictures Friday of two men suspected in a Wednesday morning home invasion on Ridgepoint Run. The victim, 73-year-old David Norris, told 27 NEWSFIRST the thieves assaulted him with a hammer and bound him with a cord before taking off with his debit card and pin number. It's believed the two got into Norris' home just after 2:00am by using a trash can to reach a second floor balcony door.

Police say Norris' stolen debit card was used at an ATM on Nandino Boulevard shortly after the crime, and at the Walmart on W. New Circle Road. Images obtained from Walmart surveillance show the two subjects using the card.

"They tried to buy all these electronic items, but the card was denied," says Lexington Police Sergeant Pete Ford.

The two reportedly arrived and departed the Walmart in an unknown white passenger car, which is also shown in the surveillance images. Lexington Police are asking for assistance in identifying the subjects in the images.

Investigators are looking to see if this crime could be connected to one a year ago when David Norris was robbed and tied up with duct tape.
