Police say children found in meth lab

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office arrested four people on Waterworks Road, 2 miles west of London, just before 9:00pm Monday. Deputies say someone had complained of a possible methamphetamine lab, with the possibility of children being present.

When Deputies arrived, they say they saw Danny Hicks hiding something in the weeds at the rear of the residence. Deputies say it ended up being items used in the manufacture of meth. Inside the residence, deputies say they located a 5-year-old female, and a 4-year-old female. They say there were also more items used to manufacture meth found inside and outside the home.

Deputies say they also found a chemical fume coming out of the bathroom area where they say the subjects in the residence had tried to flush an active meth lab down the toilet. It was located in the yard because a straight line ran from the toilet into the yard.

Police say two men in the home had meth on their person, and a female had picked up part of meth that had been recovered by deputies, and had hidden it at the residence next door.
