Police say vehicles shooting at each other on interstate

Kentucky State Police say vehicles were chasing each other, firing shots, on westbound I-64 in Franklin County.

They say several people in the two vehicles first meet in a Franklin County parking lot, off of US 127. Troopers say a dispute occurred that led to the shooting, followed by the high speed chase that ended at exit 43 on I-64, in Shelby County at the Waddy exit.

One person in the vehicle was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital with what police say was a non life-threatening gunshot wound. The other vehicle left the scene.

On Friday afternoon, the Boyle County Sheriff's Office arrested Timothy Johnson, 25, in the case. He is charged with Assault 1st and Wanton Endangerment 1st.

The KSP Frankfort Post is asking for the public's help in his investigation. Anyone with information about this shooting and car chase should call 502-227-2221 and ask for Detective Kevin Calhoon.
