Police say wet roads played a role in deadly crash

Posted: Thu 7:16 PM, Jul 12, 2012

A woman is dead after a crash on Interstate 75.

The crash happened on Thursday morning near mile marker 1 in Whitley County.

State Police say William Linton, 30, lost control of his 1995 Toyota and hit a Dodge Ram pickup and camper trailer parked in the emergency lane.

Linton and his three other passengers, 20-year-old Aisha Brogli, 38-year-old Sharon Leffew and a two-year-old were taken to Jellico Community Hospital. Leffew was pronounced dead a short time later.

The operator of the pickup, Everette Bowlin, and his passenger, Kathy Bowlin, were not injured.

Police say rain and wet roads played a role in the crash.

They say Leffew was the only one who wasn't wearing a seat belt during the crash.
