The Whitley County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man wanted for attempted murder. They say Carl Wayne Scalf shot at his girlfriend's ex-husband several times Saturday night at her Corbin home. Deputies say the victim, Henderson Day, had gone to the home to visit his grandchildren.

While at the home, deputies say Scalf, told Day to leave. They say, as Day was going to his vehicle to leave Scalf shot at him at least five times. Deputies say bullets struck the front windshield, hood, and driver’s side door of Day’s vehicle. After the shooting, deputies say Scalf continued to pursue Day in his vehicle, catching up with him and colliding with Day’s vehicle a few times. Day got to Corbin and pulled into a business, but deputies say Scalf never stopped.

Deputies are looking for Scalf on charges of wanton endangerment and attempted murder. They say Scalf is a white male, 47-years-old, 6 foot 4 inches tall, 195 lbs, brown eyes, and brown hair. If anyone has any information about Mr. Scalf you are ask to contact the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department at (606) 549-6006.
