Joshua Sparks walked away from the Powell County Transfer Station while out on a jail work release program.
POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - An inmate who walked away last month from a work detail is back in custody.
Officials with the Powell County Detention Center say Joshua Sparks is now back in their facility. They say that Sparks was captured at a home in Powell County by a sheriff's deputy late Monday night.
The Powell County sheriff's deputy says Sparks was at a friends home, but told them that he had been staying in an abandoned house since escaping.
Sparks walked away from the transfer station on Highway 15 in Stanton on the morning of April 28th.
Sparks was serving time in Powell County for theft by unlawful taking and had less than a year remaining on his sentence.
