Powell County deputy injured in weekend crash

POWELL COUNTY, Ky. - A Central Kentucky police officer is recovering following a crash on Sunday.

The Powell County Sheriff's Deputy was traveling along Black Creek Road when he swerved to avoid a deer.

That’s when officials say he left the road and hit an embankment.

The deputy, identified as Larry Hall, 35, was taken to St. Joseph Mount Sterling to be treated for neck and back injuries.

Kentucky State Police are investigating the accident.
