LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A big inconvenience for some UK students, as crews continue to try and restore full power to one of the largest dorms on campus.
UK officials tell WKYT water pipe broke Sunday night at Kirwan Tower, taking out an electrical transformer.
Power was quickly restored to half of the building, but most students were in the dark and without water overnight and most of Monday.
"We had people who couldn't use the bathroom. I had to bike to take a shower. It was just a mess," UK student Brian Witt told WKYT.
All water has now been restored, but floors ten and below remain on emergency power and have no hot water.
UK is offering flashlights and extra blankets to students on those floors.
Crews hope to have full power restored by Tuesday morning.
