Pulaski County Sheriff’s Deputy Indicted

The United States Attorney's office announced that a Pulaski County Sheriff's Deputy was indicted for civil rights violations. Sheriff's Deputy Stephen Molen was indicted for violating civil rights by using excessive force in October 2009 and October 2011.

Count One of the indictment alleges that on October 2, 2009, Molen assaulted a victim
identified as “D.W.,” resulting in bodily injury. Count Two of the indictment
alleges that on October 7, 2011, Molen assaulted a victim identified as “G.C.,” also
resulting in bodily injury.

If convicted, Molen will face a maximum of ten years imprisonment for each count.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI and will be prosecuted by Assistant
United States Attorneys Pat Molloy and Ron Walker of the Eastern District of Kentucky and
Civil Rights Division Trial Attorney Ali Ahmad.
