LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Keeneland is hosting its own Kentucky Oaks Day celebration. The fun kicked off around 10:30 a.m. Friday.
Seating in the paddock area is first come first serve. We're told people will start arriving for seats to watch the Kentucky Derby as early as 7:00 a.m. Saturday.
There's a family reunion of sorts happening during the Oaks festivities at Keeneland on Friday. Some folks from Seattle and Minnesota come to Kentucky this time every year. This time, they wanted to stay in Lexington for the Oaks and Derby.
"It's the same, just not the bump and grind of the people, the crowds," says Rick Rickrongve.
The Oaks day festivities at Keeneland are free. If you want to go for Derby day, it'll cost $5.
