Radcliff man pleads not guilty in death of son

RADCLIFF, Ky. (AP) - A central Kentucky man has pleaded not guilty to upgraded charges in the death of his infant son.

The News-Enterprise reported 23-year-old Jarrod D. Davis of Radcliff entered the plea Tuesday to charges of murder and abuse. Originally, he had faced a charge of second-degree manslaughter.

Davis told police he found his son, Ja'Vion, dead in his crib, but later said he had dropped him causing the child to hit his head. A medical examiner found blunt force trauma to the baby's head and several other injuries.

An indictment says Davis "wantonly engaged in conduct that created a grave risk of death" to the one-month-old child. It also accuses him of "intentionally" abusing the infant
