Rain moves in overnight as cold front heads our way

Posted: Sun 7:13 PM, Mar 10, 2013

After a few rain drops this morning, the clouds parted and temperatures took a turn toward Spring! But don't get used to it, while we will hold on to the mild weather tonight, a cold front is headed our way promising a noticeable cool down and a soggy Monday.

That front is already dumping heavy rain in parts of western Kentucky, but will not arrive to central and southern parts of the state until after 4am Monday. Rain will linger through most of the day Monday, with a few breaks here and there, clearing up by evening.

As far as temperatures go, highs Monday will reach the mid 50s ahead of the front, but once it arrives by mid afternoon it will be followed by a noticeable cool down.

The next system moves in Tuesday night into Wednesday, dragging another burst of cold air and the possibility for a few stray flakes. No significant impact expected with this one. Highs Wednesday will struggle to climb out of the 30s.

More rain chances to cap off the week, as another cold front moves through bringing a slight chance for showers Thursday night through Sunday.
