Very slow moving showers and thunderstorms will move into our area overnight and Sunday. The potential for flooding will be heightened in southern and eastern Kentucky.
We are getting closer to the weekend and that period will likely have the warmest temperatures of the week. As a matter of fact, we'll climb above our average daytime highs. That means we see mid 60s by the end of the weekend.
Before the weekend arrives we'll have to get through Friday. Temperatures will bump up into the low and mid 50s. This will come along with more clouds and even some shower activity. Most will stay on the dry side.
The warmer temperatures expected for the weekend will come along with our next big storm system. Just like that past few that have blown through here during the past few weeks, expect a nice warm-up followed by a cold shot. The transition between the two time periods will likely spark some thunderstorms for Sunday into Monday.
Monday will feature some cold rain in the area. Daytime highs will drop back into the 40s.
