Triple digit heat across much of Kentucky this afternoon. Similar temps will be with us for Friday into Saturday as a major heat wave blasts the bluegrass state.
We aren't going to be seeing much relief overnight with warm temps only in the 70s.
There is a small threat for a shower or thunderstorm over the upcoming weekend as the hot temps continue.
Extreme heat, combined with low humidity and strong southwest gusts will bring brush fire concerns to the entire Commonwealth.
Due to these factors, the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning until 9 p.m. with a Heat Advisory for parts of our northern and western viewers until 8 p.m.
