Replacing Rupp Arena would cost twice as much as renovating

The findings are in from a study looking at the cost of replacing Rupp Arena as opposed to renovating it.

A study by the "Arena, Arts & Entertainment Task Force" found renovating Rupp Arena would cost less than half of what the city would spend to build a new one.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports renovation would cost up to $130 million, where as building a new arena would run at least $300 million.
