LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A Lexington restaurant will not be opening on time Thursday morning after a car smashed into the front window of the store.
Police say that around midnight, a driver mistook the gas pedal for the brake pedal after she got gas at the Shell gas station off Newtown Pike. She crashed into the front window of the Subway store next to the gas station.
Police say there were no injuries and the woman will not face charges. However, because of the damage to the building, there will need to be some repairs made before it's safe for customers to go inside.
The manager was on the scene overnight to board up the window of the store.
