Results unchanged in review of legislative races

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A review of voting results has changed nothing in two close Kentucky legislative races.

The secretary of state's office in Frankfort says recanvasses Thursday show Democratic Rep. John Arnold still leads his Republican challenger by five votes, and Democratic Sen. Joey Pendleton still trails his opponent by 297 votes.

A recanvass involves double-checking math and looking for human errors in data entry.

Arnold's challenger, Tim Kline, says he's not surprised by the recanvass outcome and hasn't decided what action, if any, he'll take next.

Arnold struggled to hold his seat in a once-reliably Democratic region where Republicans made gains in last week's election. His district covers Union and parts of Daviess and Henderson counties.

Pendleton is a longtime senator who trails Whitney Westerfield in a district covering Christian, Logan and Todd counties.
