FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - What was once home to a former agriculture commissioner now belongs to someone else.

Richie Farmer's home was one of more than a dozen properties auctioned off in Frankfort on Monday.

The former UK basketball player and state agriculture commissioner wasn't present for the auction.

His home at 113 Cedar Ridge Road sold for $175,000 to the Plaintiff First National Bank out of Manchester. The bank was the sole bidder on the property.

Farmer owes $317,919 to satisfy a foreclosure lawsuit filed against him and his former wife in May.

The property sold for far less than the appraisal value of $250,000. The bank will likely put the property up for sale to the public next month.

Since leaving office last year, Farmer has gotten divorced and been at the center of a scathing audit accusing him of misusing state workers and resources. He's yet to find a job.
