RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - Richmond Police are looking for a man they believe to be involved in a home invasion. Police say two men entered a Richmond man's apartment on Sunday evening. Police tell WKYT they tied him up, beat him, and stole cash and medication.
Steven Sowers was arrested and charged in connection with this case. Currently, police are searching for Brian McIntosh.
The invasion happened on the 300 block of Jason Drive in Richmond. The victim thought he was letting one of his children inside his apartment.
"When he answered the door, two male suspects entered, and forced their way in with bandanas on and forced him down to the ground," said Major Steve Gregg.
Gregg says the 61-year-old disabled man was hit several times all over his body. The suspects took $1,200 in cash, a cell phone, and medication from the apartment.
The victim recognized the voices, body shape, and clothing of the attackers. That lead police to arrest Sowers the next day.
Gregg says this attack was not random.
"One of his children had known the suspects and had been to the apartment before," said Gregg.
Police are asking for help to track down McIntosh. Earlier Wednesday, they say they sent out the wrong picture of McIntosh.
Richmond Police later sent out the correct picture of Brian McIntosh, which is attached to this story.
Officials say the victim is doing well and is recovering from cuts and bruises.
Both suspects face Robbery 1st Degree and Unlawful Imprisonment 1st Degree charges.
