Richmond man arrested after police say he attacked his grandparents

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A Madison County man has been arrested after an alleged assault on his grandparents.

Police responded to a fight on E. Main Street just before 3pm Thursday afternoon. When they arrived they found two people injured in the street and arrested their grandson, 22-year-old Eddie A. Rose.

Officers believe that the incident started when Rose began assaulting his grandfather, it eventually escalated to him throwing gasoline on him.

Police say when Rose went to look for a lighter his grandmother attempted to intervene and was thrown into a moving vehicle, they say he then stomped on her head several times.

Both grandparents were transported to Baptist Health for treatment of their injuries.

The grandfather was treated for facial lacerations, bruises and swelling as well as a broken nose and was later released. The grandmother suffered from a fractured skull, broken nose, neck and intracranial bleeding. She was transferred to UK Medical Center for further treatment.

Their conditions are unknown at this time.

Rose was charged with two counts of attempted murder and lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
