Road restrictions in Land Between the Lakes

Posted: Mon 6:07 AM, Feb 04, 2013

GOLDEN POND, Ky. (AP) - Lane restrictions will go into effect in parts of Land Between the Lakes National Recreation area to accommodate the installation of fiber optic cable lines to improve communications in the forest.

The work starts Monday along Forest Road 165 near Wranglers Campground and is expected to last about 30 days.

Motorists can expect to encounter one-lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers and barricades.

Forest Service Road 134 (Energy Lake Dam) will continue to be closed through Friday. Barricades will remain in place until the work is complete. Both boat ramps are now available for use with access from US68/KY80 only.
