Road to honor fallen Bardstown police officer

An honor for a Central Kentucky police officer killed in the line of duty.

During a ceremony at the State Capitol Wednesday Governor Beshear signed legislation that designates a 13 mile stretch of the Blue Grass Parkway as "The Officer Jason Ellis Memorial Highway."

Officer Ellis was ambushed in May of 2013, along the Blue Grass Parkway in Nelson County.

Police have not made any arrests for the murder.

Officer Ellis worked for Bardstown Police.
