Lexington crash leaves SUV suspended on wires

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Two roads were closed in Lexington after a bizarre accident.

It happened around 12:30 Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Bryan Avenue.

Witnesses tell us a woman lost control of her SUV, hit a truck, then a tree, crashed through one utility pole, and then drove up the guy-wire of another utility pole.

"I heard several crashes and went outside," said Pat Krahwinkel. "There was one gentleman already out of the truck, the driver was still in the truck."

The woman in the SUV was trapped for a short time inside the vehicle which ended up with its front wheels off the ground.

We're told the woman may have had a medical emergency that caused the crash. She was taken to the hospital. The two men inside the truck that was hit were also transported by ambulance to the hospital. All three people are expected to be fine.

Crews had to use a crane to lift the vehicle off of the wires before pulling it onto a flatbed truck.
