LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - An intense search is on in the north part of Lexington for a bank robber who struck around 4:45 Thursday afternoon.

Police tell us someone robbed the PNC Bank on West New Circle Road. They say a white man around 5'5", wearing dark clothes, blue jeans, and a UK baseball hat, walked in and handed the teller a note, demanding money. They said he had a gun and showed it to the tellers, but did not use it.

"From the best that we have, the information that we received is that he left on foot headed north across New Circle," said Lieutenant Samuel Murdock with the Lexington Police Department.

Police used a chopper and K-9 unit to track the suspect, but so far have been unable to find him.
